Nick Brown is the founder and CEO of the Empowering Earth Institute and The Intelligent Company. He is on a mission to bring AI to developing countries at scale to reduce inequality, bridge the digital divide, and bring countries like Guyana into the 4th industrial revolution of AI and achieve their Sustainable Development Goals. Recently Amazon’s CTO filmed a documentary with Nick about his work on using geospatial AI for disaster preparedness and response.
Nick is a 20-year veteran of social change, having worked in government, on Wall St, and for the United Nations. For 15 years he has lived and worked in some of the world’s most challenging humanitarian environments such as Afghanistan, Micronesia and the Philippines. Nick is a proven social entrepreneur who has been involved in 9 startups, 3 M&As, and 1 IPO. He used to lead the finance world’s leading sustainable financial analysis team, has helped write a book on sustainable finance, and served on the Brock University Board of Trustees.
