Eldon Marks’s keynote at AI-4D Showcase 2023 emphasizes the role of AI in national development, accessible technology, enhancements in daily life through AI, social impact in innovation, and scaling AI to align with UN Sustainable Development Goals. AI can empower individuals, improve industries, and progress national strategies. Platforms like TrueSelph democratize AI, thereby enabling broader use, even by the less technically skilled. Examples such as Guardian AI illustrate AI’s integration into everyday services. Ethical standards, privacy, and tackling misinformation are crucial as AI is leveraged for educational, economic, and cross-sector collaboration for the greater good.
Christopher Clarke expands on the issue of academia and industry alignment which must take place to ensure we adapt to our rapidly evolving landscape.
Jason discusses the evolution leading to generative AI, examines the commercial reaction to the technology, underlines its democratization, and stresses the need for adaptation to this revolutionary shift.
Lorena shares on implications of TrueSelph Project, IDB Group’s initiatives and contributions towards using technology as a catalyst for development and innovation in the region.
Richie introduces the Atlas of AI, a guide for C-suite tech executives such as CIOs, CTOs, and CDOs, to transition from digital transformation to intelligence adaptation using his pioneering spatial computing technology called Airglass.
Dr. Peter Ramsaroop is the Chief Investment Officer and Agency Head at Guyana Office for Foreign and Local Investments. He highlights the significant role AI can play in developing countries like Guyana.
Dr. Mehdi Snène, the senior advisor on AI to the UN Secretary-General’s Envoy on Technology, presents on AI for Development: An Initial Global Blueprint.
Nick brings his perspective on bringing AI to developing countries and presents on AI and sustainable technologies.
The AI-4D Showcase emerged through the collaboration of TrueSelph Inc., IDB Lab, V75 Inc. and Jaseci Labs LLC. TrueSelph Inc., (an AI product startup), with funding from IDB Lab and technical support from V75 Inc., (a Guyanese AI Software Development Firm) and Jaseci Labs, LLC (an AI research and development firm in MI, USA), is on a mission to apply its AI enablement technologies to address the digital divide in developing countries, starting with Guyana. We see this event as a first-of-its-kind movement to inspire and empower the Guyanese technology-ecosystem as we recognize and embrace a shift from consumers to producers of leading-edge technology.
